Forum: The Forensic Institute Research Network (FIRN)

Introduction to the FIRN Forum

The FIRN Forum is a bulletin board and live chat area created specifically for the international forensic community. You can find out what’s on, comment on articles in this site, and even add your own events to the calendar.

The FIRN Forum is a lively international bulletin board available free to anyone with a legitimate interest in forensic science and the law. Joining the Forum is free and you become a member of FIRN. Scientists, lawyers, police, law enforcement agencies, and legal and forensic students are especially welcome.

With current areas dealing with research, education, casework, law, and the organisation of FIRN, it is the essential place to see and be seen!

Registration offers many benefits, including:

  1. Take part in an exciting international forum specifically organised for academic research and teaching in forensic science.

  2. Let others know your research, teaching and casework interests.

  3. Discover events and useful work going on elsewhere - and contact the relevant people.

  4. Make excellent international contacts in forensic science research and education, including site email and chat systems for instant contact.

  5. Publicise your events on the calendar.

  6. Take part in organised online chat rooms to discuss specific topics.

  7. Chat with other members on-line.

  8. Lead you own initiatives by emailing the administrator.

  9. Subscribe to the FIRN Newsletter to keep you fully informed of international developments.

Membership is free. Students are particularly encouraged to join and debate issues within the Forum. However, we believe that a professional forum should use real names, so you will be asked to enter that, although you may use a different form of that for your user identity (contact us if you have any questions about this). You will also have a choice of methods to allow others to contact you, if you wish.
