Based on the easily remembered phrase, “Know it, Do it, Get better at it”, the CDS is a comprehensive, self-contained system that includes Continuous Professional Development (CPD), Continuing Professional Competence (CPC), and career development. As such, it provides a means of assessing individual performance and development, identifies training and education needs of individual staff, and provides the organisation with a complete skills inventory and objective appraisal system. Based on a robust generic model, the CDS is tailored to individual clients’ needs.

Using an overall strategy with defined outcomes it will be easier to see where training inputs will contribute to desired outputs and thereby improve the cost-efficiency of training and education.
