FIRN MANAGEMENT BOARD

The Forensic Institute Research Network is managed by a Board drawn from the members of FIRN. The Board’s role is to provide strategic direction to FIRN, coordinate its numerous projects, and occassionally to act on behalf of the membership.

• Dr John P Cassella, Staffordshire University (Meetings & Conferences)

• John Cassella graduated with an honours degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences and Chemistry in 1988 from Leicester and a Doctorate degree in bone pathology from the University College London in 1993. John has worked many of London’s teaching hospitals in a variety of areas of medical research before taking up a post at the University of Central England as a lecturer in Biomedical Sciences. John was until recently a University Reader in Biomedical Sciences and was the Programme Leader for the Forensic Science degree courses at the University of Derby. He has recently joined the forensic team at Staffordshire University to teach aspects of forensic biology and forensic pathology.

To become a member of FIRN you must be an academic, practitioner, or postgraduate student with a legitimate interest in forensic science research or teaching.
