FIRN MANAGEMENT BOARD

The Forensic Institute Research Network is managed by a Board drawn from the members of FIRN. The Board’s role is to provide strategic direction to FIRN, coordinate its numerous projects, and occassionally to act on behalf of the membership.

  • Dr Andrew Morrisson, Robert Gordon University (Research/Conferences)
  • Dr Andrew Morrisson is Associate Head of the School of Life Sciences at the Robert Gordon University Aberdeen.

    After graduating in Chemistry from Imperial College London, he completed his PhD at the Macaulay Institute in Aberdeen working on laser remote sensing of environmental pollutants. He then ran the SERC-funded high resolution Fourier Transform Infrared facility at Aberdeen University for 5 years before being appointed to the staff at RGU.

    During his time at RGU he has developed research interests in chemical speciation, chemometrics and the application of capillary electrophoresis in a variety of areas.

    Since 2001 he has been the Subject Leader in Forensic Science at RGU with responsibility for implementing undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programmes and coordinating research and consultancy in forensic science.

To become a member of FIRN you must be an academic, practitioner, or postgraduate student with a legitimate interest in forensic science research or teaching.
