Peer Review Procedure
- All articles, letters, short communications, and other material that could be regarded by readers as original should not have been published elsewhere.
- Submission by an author will imply that the author has read and accepted the Journal’s Copyright Policy.
- Exceptionally, non-original work may be published. For example conference proceedings where abstracts may have appeared in the conference information.
- Author(s) must advise the Editor-in Chief in writing where material has been submitted or published before.
- All material intended for publication will be submitted in an approved electronic format * to the FIRN department.
- Articles that are within the scope of the journal and that are not rejected by the Editor-in-Chief or the Board will be reviewed by at least two reviewers
- The Editor-in-Chief will consult the Editorial Board regarding the appointment of suitable reviewers
- Authors are encouraged to suggest reviewers who are or are not suitable. The choice of reviewer is, however, at the discretion of the Board or their proxy.
- No author of a paper can be a reviewer for that paper.
- Reviewers will remain anonymous.
- Reviewers will be asked whether the manuscript is scientifically sound and coherent, whether it is of interest to the journal’s audience and whether the quality of writing is acceptable.
- Reviewers will be required to agree a reasonable turnaround time for their review.

- acceptance
- acceptable with modification
- rejection with an invitation to resubmit
- rejection
- The reviewer’s comments may be made available to the author at the discretion of the reviewer. The reviewer will remain anonymous.
- Where there is substantive disagreement between the reviewers, or between the reviewers and the authors, the editor may make a decision or seek an opinion from other reviewer(s).
- When a paper is accepted,
- Only the approved finished paper will be published
- the author will be required to accept the Terms & Conditions of Copyright prior to publication
- the author will be advised of the citation information for their paper.
