Marking a forum as read It can make using the Forum easier if you mark the Forum ‘read’ once you have read the latest entries. The system will then automatically indicate when new Posts have appeared in that Forum since you were last in by showing a darker logo to the left of the Forum Heading. When you are in a Forum you will see, just below your login name some text; “ Show archived :: Mark Forum: [ Read | Unread ]”. Click on “Read” to mark the Forum read. Member list There is a list of members (users) that is accessible to you at the bottom of the screen; you may have to scroll down to see ‘Member List’. When you click on this you will see a list of members. You can access other members’ profiles by clicking on their name in the list. Contacting other Members By clicking on the relevant text in the ‘Contact’ column in the members list you will be able to PM (Private Message within the Forum) or email those who have given permission for this. Chatting There is a chat area that enables real time chat among members. It is accessed by clicking on ‘Chatting’ in the ‘Who’s online’ section of the Main Index. Using the Calendar The Calendar is accessed by clicking on [User Area] and then on the [Calendar] icon. Each event is marked in the relevant date. Just click on the event to see the details of it. If you have an event that you want to publicise just PM or email an administrator by clicking on ‘Contact’ at the bottom of the screen. To edit your profile Click on [User Area] and then on [Edit Profile]. Your profile is an important part of your participation.Your real name is a necessity in this professional forum, but email Admin if you think that you have good reason to remain anonymous. Most other boxes are self-explanatory and should be completed accurately; some need special mention. Do pay attention to your time zone. This avoids other users trying to contact you at inappropriate times! You have options as to how other people can contact you. An important feature of the Forum is communication and the creation of networks. However, all users should be considerate in their use of the opportunity that others are providing by making themselves available. Users who abuse the privilege should be reported to the Administrator. PM means Private Message. These allow other users to contact you without being aware of your email address. When you log in you will be advised in the area at the bottom of the screen when you have received new PMs. Change your username E-mail Admin with your current and desired username. The Journal Forum is restricted to the Editorial Board of the Journal, but the other fora are open to registered users.
