HUMID is the e-symposium presenting the latest developments and thinking in forensic human identification. With a focus on current issues in DNA profiling and fingerprinting this symposium is an obviously important meeting for everyone involved in the criminal justice system. The third HUMID was held on 27th March 2007 on the theme of 'Profiling of degraded and low amounts of DNA'. The archived event is available. Topics within each symposia may encompass new techniques, ethics, legal, and scientific research and developments. Live Round Table discussions provide a stimulating debate on sometimes controversial issues within the field of human identification. Delegates are able to question panel members via the advanced technology used to deliver HUMID to the desktop. Although most contributions are from invited speakers recognised as leaders in the field, we welcome discussion and enquiries from anyone who may wish to contribute. Visit HUMID 2007 for a taste of the event. HUMID 2008 will be in February 2008 on the topic of Disaster Victim Identification (DVI).
